A neo-Gothic basilica built directly across the Guáitara River gorge near the Ecuadorian border, its spires rising from a bridge 100 meters above the water. Pilgrims descend past walls of votive plaques to a sanctuary anchored to the canyon rock where a Marian image is venerated.
