Salamina, Caldas

One of Colombia's official heritage towns, a hillside grid of ornately carved doors and two-story bahareque houses from the coffee boom era. Day trips run to the Valle de la Samaria, where thousands of wax palms stand thicker than in the better-known Cocora Valley.
