A sweep of warm Pacific water off western Panama scattered with dozens of uninhabited islands, mangrove estuaries, and some of the country's healthiest coral. A national marine park protects islands like Boca Brava and the Islas Secas area, where humpback whales calve between July and October. Boca Chica village is the usual jumping-off point for boat trips and sport fishing.
