A transition-zone park where dry northern forest meets humid southern rainforest, an hour and a half from San José. It shelters one of Costa Rica's largest wild populations of scarlet macaws, which commute noisily between the park and coastal almond trees. A paved universal-access trail makes this one of the country's easiest wildlife walks.
