A sheer basalt islet off southern Martinique that the Royal Navy famously commissioned as a 'stone ship' and garrisoned against the French in 1804. Today it is uninhabited and off-limits ashore, but its caves and steep underwater walls make it a celebrated dive site, and the view from Anse Cafard is iconic.
