A north-coast town on a horseshoe bay whose calm, reef-protected waters make it the area's most reliable swimming and snorkeling beach. It was settled in the 1940s by Jewish refugees invited by the Dominican government, a history told in a small museum and synagogue. Dive shops here access more than a dozen sites within a short boat ride.
