A beach resort area on the coast of Holguín Province where forested hills roll down to coral-fringed coves. Snorkeling directly off the main beach is better than at most Cuban resorts, and the Chorro de Maíta archaeological site with its Taíno burial ground is a short drive away. The area feels greener and hillier than Cuba's flat northern keys.
