Curepipe

The highest town in Mauritius, sitting on the cool, often misty central plateau amid tea country. Its colonial-era town hall, botanical garden and model-ship workshops give it a different rhythm from the coast. The Trou aux Cerfs crater sits on its edge, and the Black River Gorges are a short drive south.
