Madagascar's northernmost city, set on one of the largest natural bays in the Indian Ocean and still widely known by its colonial name, Diego Suarez. Faded French-era architecture lines its broad streets, and the surrounding coast holds the Emerald Sea lagoon and the Three Bays walking route. It is the usual base for Amber Mountain and Ankarana.
