A flat-topped sandstone plateau that served as the mountain fortress of King Moshoeshoe I, founder of the Basotho nation, and repelled repeated 19th-century sieges. Guided walks climb to the royal graves and village ruins on the summit, with views to the Qiloane pinnacle that inspired the Basotho hat.
