Malawi's oldest and wildest reserve, a swath of miombo woodland cut by rivers running off the escarpment toward Lake Malawi. It gained attention through one of Africa's largest elephant translocations, which moved around 500 animals here in 2016 and 2017. Walking safaris and riverside camps suit travelers who prefer bush immersion over ticking species lists.
