A once-emptied reserve in the Lower Shire Valley transformed by a landmark restoration that reintroduced elephants, lions, rhinos, and thousands of other animals from 2003 onward. It is now Malawi's only Big Five destination, with game drives along the Shire and Mkulumadzi rivers. Community-run lodges spread the benefits to surrounding villages.
