A Rift Valley lake near Arba Minch famous for hosting some of Africa's largest Nile crocodiles, which gather on a sandbank dubbed the crocodile market. Boat trips also pass pods of hippos and fishermen working from high-prowed wooden boats. Hornbills and fish eagles patrol a shoreline backed by the Guge mountains.
