A whitewashed pilgrimage town draped over two hills above the Roman ruins of Volubilis, founded around the tomb of Moulay Idriss I. Long closed to overnight foreign visitors, it now welcomes guests to its guesthouses, terraces and one of Morocco's few cylindrical minarets.

Where next?

The world is wide open.
