Jewish-Medieval Heritage of Erfurt

In Erfurt's medieval core, three buildings preserve a rare record of Jewish life in the Central European Middle Ages: the Old Synagogue, a mikveh and the Stone House. Together they trace the everyday world of Erfurt's Jewish community, living alongside a Christian majority, from the late 11th to the mid-14th century. The trio in Thuringia's capital was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2023.
