Listvyanka is a lakeside village at the point where the Angara River exits Lake Baikal, situated about 70 kilometres south of Irkutsk and serving as the most accessible point on the lake's shore. The Baikal Museum here holds tanks with living golomyanka fish and nerpa seals, and a short ascent to Chersky Rock above the village provides panoramic views along both the lake and the Angara. In winter the frozen lake surface near the village is a starting point for ice walks and hovercraft excursions.
