Cape Horn

Cape Horn is the southernmost land point of the Americas, a rocky headland on Isla Hornos belonging to the Chilean Navarino Island chain, with a lighthouse and a memorial sculpture of an albatross marking the site. The cape has historical significance as the Pacific–Atlantic passage that defined global shipping routes before the Panama Canal, and it remains one of the most dramatic and weather-battered coastal landscapes in the world. Visits are typically by zodiac landing from expedition cruise ships navigating the Drake Passage.
