Torres del Paine is the flagship national park of Chilean Patagonia, centred on three granite towers that rise nearly 2,500 metres from the Patagonian steppe in sheer vertical walls. The classic Mirador Las Torres viewpoint, reached by a steep four-hour trail, faces the towers directly at sunrise when alpenglow turns the granite pink and amber. Pumas, guanacos, Andean condors, and rheas move freely across the open terrain, and the park's network of circuits — from the five-day O Trek to the seven-day full circuit — are among the most celebrated hiking routes in South America.
