Bonito is a small municipality in the karst highlands of Mato Grosso do Sul, built around a cluster of natural attractions known for water of exceptional transparency. The Rio da Prata and Boca da Onça river systems allow snorkelling alongside large schools of dourado and pacu in visibility that frequently exceeds fifteen metres. The surrounding plateau also contains cave systems with stalactite formations and freshwater sinkholes accessible only through licensed local tour operators.
