Chapada Diamantina is a highland plateau in the interior of Bahia, composed of ancient sandstone tablelands eroded into canyons, sinkholes, and cascading waterfalls. The park's most striking feature is the Morro do Pai Inácio massif, whose flat summit offers a sea of clouds view over the valley below. The Gruta da Pratinha and Poço Azul subterranean pools, fed by aquifers, are among the clearest natural swimming spots in Brazil.
