A massive stone fortress of the Chachapoyas culture perched on a limestone ridge at 3,000 meters above the Utcubamba River canyon in northern Peru. The enclosure walls reach 20 meters in height and contain over 400 circular residential structures decorated with geometric stone friezes. A cable car introduced in 2017 provides access from Nuevo Tingo in the valley below, replacing the previous two-hour uphill walk.
