A glacially formed lake at 4,600 meters within Huascarán National Park, known for intensely blue-green coloration produced by glacial flour suspended in the water. The trail from Cebollapampa ascends through high-altitude grassland past cascading streams to the lake below the Chacraraju peaks. The surrounding amphitheater of rock and glacial ice frames the lake on three sides in a dramatic photographic composition.
