Dean's Blue Hole on the western shore of Long Island, Bahamas, is the world's deepest known saltwater blue hole at approximately 202 metres, dropping sharply from a broad shallow entry into a vertical shaft of extraordinary clarity. The site is the venue for the annual Vertical Blue free-diving competition, which has set multiple world records. The surrounding beach cove of pale sand and turquoise shallows makes it one of the most visually striking coastal geological features in the Atlantic.
