Trinidad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site along Cuba's south-central coast, is one of the best-preserved colonial towns in the Americas. Its cobblestone streets, ochre and pastel facades, and the tower of the Palacio Cantero overlooking terracotta rooftops toward the Sierra del Escambray constitute one of the Caribbean's signature photographic scenes. The adjacent Valley of the Sugar Mills (Valle de los Ingenios) stretches across a broad plain dotted with ruins of 19th-century sugar estates, already covered in existing database entries.
