The San Blas Islands—officially the Guna Yala archipelago—comprise more than 365 largely uninhabited cays stretching along Panama's northeastern Caribbean coast. The territory is governed autonomously by the indigenous Guna people, who have resisted external development and maintain traditional molas textile traditions. The islands are characterised by powdery white sand, shallow turquoise flats, and coconut palms with no roads, hotels chains, or resort infrastructure.
