A small oasis town on the Baja California Sur coast where the Mulegé River meets the Sea of Cortez, Mulegé sits within a grove of date palms that forms a striking green corridor against the surrounding desert landscape. A 18th-century mission church sits on a hill above the river and town. The calm waters of the Bahía de Concepción immediately to the south are sheltered by the Concepción Peninsula and used extensively by kayakers and RV travelers.
