The San Antonio River Walk is a linear park system following the San Antonio River through the urban core of San Antonio at a level below the street grade, creating a protected pedestrian environment of stone walkways, arched bridges, and cypress-lined banks. The network extends approximately 24 kilometers and connects the historic missions to the south with the Pearl District to the north. The oldest and most visited section passes through the downtown loop, lined with public art, fountains, and the amphitheater at Arneson River Theatre.
