The Pribilof Islands — comprising St. Paul and St. George — are a remote volcanic group in the Bering Sea roughly 300 kilometers north of the Aleutian chain. St. Paul Island hosts one of the world's largest northern fur seal rookeries, with over a million animals congregating on its beaches in summer. The islands' cliffs support immense seabird colonies including thick-billed murres, red-legged kittiwakes, and numerous Asiatic vagrants that make the Pribilofs a destination for serious birdwatchers from around the world.
