Kenai Fjords National Park on the Kenai Peninsula protects the Harding Icefield, one of the largest ice fields in the United States, along with nearly 40 glaciers that flow from it toward the Gulf of Alaska. Boat tours from Seward navigate the fjord coastline past calving tidewater glaciers, sea otters, Steller sea lions, and large seabird colonies on rocky offshore stacks. The 8.8-kilometer trail to Exit Glacier and an advanced route to the Harding Icefield provide land-based access to the park's interior.
