Linville Falls

Linville Falls on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Burke County drops in two distinct cascades into Linville Gorge, one of the deepest gorges in the eastern United States and federally designated as wilderness. Multiple maintained overlook trails provide views of both the upper and lower falls from above, from the side, and from directly below the plunge pool. The gorge, which drops roughly 2,000 feet over 12 miles from the falls to the river's outlet, supports diverse plant communities from its rim to its creek bed.
