Cape Neddick Light, universally known as Nubble Light, stands on a small tidal island off the tip of Cape Neddick in York, Maine, separated from the mainland by roughly 100 yards of surf. The 1879 cast-iron lighthouse and its associated keeper's house appear in near-perfect compositional symmetry from the Sohier Park viewing area, making this one of the most-photographed lighthouses in New England. The surrounding waters reflect warm tones at sunset throughout the year, with autumn skies providing the most dramatic backdrops.
