Acadia National Park

Acadia occupies much of Mount Desert Island off the Maine coast, where rounded granite summits meet the Atlantic shoreline. Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the Eastern Seaboard, offers the first sunrise in the contiguous United States during winter months. The carriage road network, built by the Rockefeller family, threads through spruce-fir forest and across stone arch bridges, providing superb cycling and walking routes.
