A national monument straddling the Colorado-Utah border at the confluence of the Green and Yampa rivers, encompassing both a world-class dinosaur fossil site and significant canyon and whitewater terrain. The Quarry Exhibit Hall on the Utah side preserves 1,500 dinosaur bones exposed in situ in a sandstone cliff face, visible inside a purpose-built structure. The Colorado side offers the Canyon Area with river overlooks and rock art panels. The Yampa and Green rivers are navigable by multi-day rafting trips through permit.
