A university city in the Gallatin Valley of southwestern Montana, situated between the Bridger Range to the northeast and the Gallatin Range to the south. Bozeman serves as the closest major city to Yellowstone's north entrance and has grown substantially as a recreational hub for skiing at Bridger Bowl and Big Sky Resort, fly fishing on the Gallatin and Madison rivers, and access to the surrounding national forests. The Museum of the Rockies, affiliated with Montana State University, holds one of the most significant dinosaur fossil collections in the world.
