A broad glacially carved valley in the northeast corner of Yellowstone National Park, widely considered among the premier wildlife viewing corridors in North America. Bison herds numbering in the hundreds graze the river flats, and the valley is one of the most reliable locations in the world to observe wild gray wolves following their reintroduction in 1995. The road through the valley passes pullouts frequented by wildlife watchers with spotting scopes, and grizzly bears, pronghorn, and coyotes are regularly seen. Early morning visits in any season yield the highest activity.
