A mountain town at the south end of Jackson Hole valley, serving as the main commercial gateway to Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks. Town Square, with its arched entryways made from antler sheds, marks the center of a compact downtown of galleries, outfitters, and restaurants. Three ski areas — Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Snow King, and Grand Targhee — are within an hour's drive. The National Elk Refuge adjacent to town provides winter sleigh-ride viewing of up to 11,000 elk.
