A park in northern Colorado straddling the Continental Divide, with more than 60 peaks above 12,000 feet. Trail Ridge Road crosses the park at over 12,000 feet, one of the highest continuous paved roads in North America, passing through alpine tundra where elk and marmots are common. The Glacier Gorge and Bear Lake areas offer accessible subalpine lake scenery with reflections of peaks including Hallett and Flattop. The park experiences dramatic weather changes and afternoon thunderstorms are typical in summer.
