A high-altitude plateau in southern Utah that erodes into an amphitheater of orange and red hoodoos — tall spire-shaped rock formations sculpted by frost and rain. Bryce Amphitheater, viewed from Sunrise, Sunset, Inspiration, and Bryce Points along the rim, is at its most dramatic at dawn when low-angle light deepens the color contrast. Trails including Queen's Garden and Navajo Loop descend among the hoodoos. Snow dusting the red formations in winter creates distinctive photographic conditions.
