A series of vivid turquoise-blue waterfalls on the Havasupai Tribe reservation, located in a side canyon of the Grand Canyon. The striking color results from high concentrations of calcium carbonate in the water. Reaching Havasu Falls requires a 10-mile hike or horseback ride from the trailhead, and all visitors must obtain a permit and reservation from the Havasupai Tribe in advance. Camping at the base provides extended time at the falls.
