Deception Pass State Park on Whidbey Island and Fidalgo Island is Washington's most-visited state park, centered on a narrow tidal strait of the same name spanned by two steel bridges built in 1935. The park encompasses over 4,000 acres of forest, freshwater lakes, rocky bluffs, and sandy beaches, with views of Puget Sound, the San Juan Islands, and the Cascade Range. The turbulent tidal currents through the pass draw sea kayakers and divers to one of the most nutrient-rich marine environments in Washington.
