Multnomah Falls drops 620 feet in two tiers from the basalt cliffs of the Columbia River Gorge, making it one of the tallest year-round waterfalls in the United States. The iconic Benson Bridge, a concrete arch spanning the narrow gorge between the upper and lower falls, is a frequent foreground element in photographs of the falls. A paved trail switchbacks to the top of the upper falls, offering a view down the canyon to the Columbia River and the Washington shore.
