Vasquez Rocks Natural Area in the Agua Dulce area of Los Angeles County features dramatically tilted sandstone slabs rising at steep angles from the high desert floor, the result of tectonic activity along the San Andreas Fault zone. The formations have served as a backdrop in hundreds of film and television productions since the early era of Hollywood westerns. Short trails lead to and between the major rock formations, which are popular with technical scramblers and casual hikers alike.
