17-Mile Drive is a private scenic road on the Monterey Peninsula traversing Pebble Beach and Pacific Grove, edging some of the most photographed coastline in central California. Landmarks along the route include Lone Cypress, a solitary Monterey cypress perched on a granite outcrop above the ocean, and Bird Rock, a small islet densely populated with harbor seals and cormorants. The toll road is flanked by iconic golf courses and coastal chaparral.
