Point Reyes National Seashore

Point Reyes National Seashore occupies a triangular peninsula northwest of San Francisco, separated from the mainland by the San Andreas Fault rift zone. The park encompasses dramatic cliffs, wide sandy beaches, tule elk reserves, and a historic lighthouse at the windswept point. Its varied habitats support an exceptional diversity of breeding and migratory birds, and the coastal waters are seasonally frequented by gray whales.
