A large natural swimming hole on the southern coast of Upolu formed by a lava tube connecting to the sea through underground passages, To Sua Ocean Trench is one of the most photographed natural features in the Pacific. The pool, roughly 30 metres deep and filled with clear turquoise saltwater, is accessed by a long wooden ladder descending the sheer lava walls. The surrounding coastal gardens and lava cliff landscape are managed as a private park.
