Daintree National Park protects the largest continuous area of tropical rainforest in Australia, covering 1,200 square kilometres of the ranges between Mossman and the Bloomfield River in far north Queensland. The Daintree forest is part of the Wet Tropics of Queensland World Heritage Area and is considered among the oldest tropical rainforests on Earth, with plant families not found on any other continent. The Jindalba and Marrdja boardwalk trails allow access into the forest interior to observe strangler figs, fan palms, and the diverse birdlife of the rainforest floor.
