Narawntapu National Park on Tasmania's north coast is sometimes called the Serengeti of Tasmania for its concentration of native wildlife visible in open grassland settings. Bennett's wallabies, Tasmanian pademelons, forester kangaroos, and wombats graze the coastal grasslands at dusk and dawn in numbers rarely seen in any other Tasmanian park. The park encompasses Bakers Beach, a long dune beach facing Bass Strait, and several lagoons and wetlands used by migratory waders.
