Myall Lakes National Park encompasses a system of coastal lakes, wetlands, and sand barriers 240 kilometres north of Sydney, forming the largest coastal lake system in New South Wales. The lakes are separated from the Tasman Sea by a narrow dune barrier and are accessible by houseboats and canoes from Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest at the southern entrance. The park protects extensive coastal heath, littoral rainforest patches, and banksia woodland supporting diverse birdlife including the glossy black cockatoo.
