Springbrook National Park occupies the southern rim of an ancient volcanic caldera on the Springbrook Plateau, 90 kilometres south of Brisbane. The park is part of the Gondwana Rainforests World Heritage Area and contains cool temperate rainforest, waterfalls including Twin Falls and Purling Brook Falls, and the Natural Bridge — a rock arch formed by a waterfall above a cave inhabited by glow-worms (Arachnocampa). The plateau's elevation produces cooler temperatures than the nearby Gold Coast.
