Cape Tribulation is the point where the Daintree Rainforest, part of the Wet Tropics of Queensland World Heritage Area, meets the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park — one of the few places on Earth where two World Heritage ecosystems adjoin at the coast. The cape lies within Daintree National Park, where dense lowland tropical rainforest descends to beaches fringed with mangroves and cassowary habitat. The Bloomfield Track south from Cooktown provides the only road access, requiring a four-wheel-drive vehicle.
